For each ride a jockey is given a percentage finishing position. If, for example, there were 11 horses in the race and the jockey came 6th, his/her percentage for this race would be 50% as he finished exactly in the middle of the field. If he came last he would receive 0%, if he came 5th he would receive 60% and 100% if he finished 1st. RaceBase jockey ratings are calculated by averaging out the finishing position of each of the jockeys runs and then adjusting these raw percentages slightly, according to the TAB favouritism. The best possible rating is 120, if the jockey has ridden the rank outsider each time and has won all of them. The worst possible rating is -20, if the jockey has ridden the favourite each time and has finished last on all of them. Qualification for these ratings : The last 2 and 1/2 half years races only are taken into account. 200 rides minimum. Flat races only.
